Question : Why do you have to take an early morning urine specimen for pregnancy tests ?
Answer : The urine gets very concentrated at night so that an early morning specimen contains more of the hormones which the tests are trying to discover . These hormones are produced by the developing afterbirth which is bedding into the mothers's womb to get nourishment for the new baby . That is why it is important that the specimens should be taken immediately one getting up .
