Actor Bharath to get into wedlock

To double the joy of the success of his latest film 555 that is received well at the box office, Bharath has announced his wedding today. The actor released an official statement to this effect stating that he is walking down the aisle. His will be a simple, registered marriage with the presence of parents from both sides followed by a wedding reception on the 14th of September, which is expected to be attended by his colleagues, friends and well wishers from the film fraternity.

 

Bharath's fiance, Jesly, is a dentist whose parents are based out of Dubai. Their friendship blossomed into love and progressed into wedding after acceptance from both their parents. "I met Mr. and Mrs. Shankar after my wedding was fixed and sought their blessings," Bharath mentioned in the statement. Bharath debuted with Shankar's coming of age flick Boys.

Living together to marriage

Today in the world, after dating most of
the couples, the next step is the living
together with a committed relationship.
Did you ever think why this happened?
People apparently think compatibility
cannot be tested without the actual
experience of a marriage without any
legal bonds. It’s like a trial run of the
marriage. However this has a good side
as well as bad side.
Living together has more freedom to
select his or her legal life partner. Living
under one roof is more far away from
the dating. It will reveal more personal
details about each other’s. In here you
can’t hide your real situation. From this
you could easily decide what the next
fate of your relationship is. This will ease
the life of course. So if this period went
wrong, relationship would end up like
“Turning off a light”. Not much hard
feelings. But in a marriage you can’t just
“turn off this light”. And of course, in
here you have more freedom and the
very less responsibilities for both of you.
Specially for men. Generally, living
together is not much empowering for
women. It places them in a vulnerable
position, emotionally and materially, and
Women generally see moving in together
as a step toward marriage, but men tend
to regard the relationship as more of a
sexual opportunity without the bonds
and responsibilities of commitment.
In living together, love will not take
much place like in the dating or
marriage. Instead, sex and independency
will take place. On dating always you
have a hope for future; you have more
curiosity about the next step of your
relationship or what’s going on next. And
also Dating will keep alive your love, and
in a marriage too. When you have a bond
from a marriage, you always do things to
your relationship with the
responsibilities. And every time love will
take the place. After all you may pay
more attention to care about your
marriage. Coz’ you know it’s not just a
living together.
And also I believe, a couple who get
married after living together, is more
tend to be divorced than the others. It’s
because, they know how to survive after
the divorce, or how to face the society
after the divorce. They had good
experience, about the independencies. So
in one hand living together is more like
to be prepared for divorce rather than
the marriage.
But not being living together, could we
decide our next step of a relationship? Of
course you can. You have plenty of
opportunities for that in the dating. You
could talk anything, you could do
anything and you name it. Only different
is you not live under one roof with your
better half. However, if you want more
freedom and fewer responsibilities and
without bonds, only relationship with all
other benefits, answer is living together.

Arun Jaitley not allowed to visit Kishtwar

BJP leader Arun Jaitley, who had planned to lead a party team to trouble-torn Kishtwar in Jammu region, found his plans foiled as authorities did not allow him to proceed after he landed at Jammu airport on Sunday morning. He has been requested to return, an official said.

Meanwhile, curfew was extended to Kathua, Samba and Udhampur districts of the State.

The indefinite curfew imposed in Kishtwar ever since riots broke out on Friday has remained, without a break, for three days now. Authorities also brought Jammu city and Rajouri town under curfew on Saturday, in a bid to maintain law and order.

Two people died in the communal riots that broke out in Kishtwar on the day of Eid. Over 20 sustained injuries in firing by unruly mobs. Arson and tension later spread to other parts of the State.

Research Chair on Legal Anthropology opened at Sastra

Solicitor General Mohan Parasaran on Saturday launched the Sastra University's School of Law's initiative to conduct research on legal anthropology and advised students to expand their knowledge beyond legal boundaries.

Mr. Parasaran inaugurated a Research Chair on Legal Anthropology with a seed corpus of Rs. 50 lakh to conduct research in the interdisciplinary field of legal anthropology at a function in the university in Thanjavur. He also inaugurated three scholarship schemes named in memory of legal legends — Justice Patanjali Sastri, Nani Palkhivala and G. Ramaswami. The best students of Sastra's BB.A. LLB B.Com. LLB & B.B.A., LLB programme will be awarded a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000 under this initiative, he said.

Tracing the history of successful jurists, Mr. Parasaran delivered a special lecture on "Being a Successful Jurist." He narrated his experiences and evolutionary success stories of leading jurists.

Justice S. Nagamuthu, Judge, Madras High Court, offered his felicitations and stressed on the importance of judiciary's alignment with socio-cultural underpinnings.

Eminent columnist S. Gurumurthy, who has also been appointed Research Chair Professor at Sastra University, stressed on the importance of studying the convergence of law and anthropology.

S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Dean, Sastra University, told The Hindu that the objective of establishing the endowment was to trace the contours of political, social, theological and cultural models of anthropology and interlinking them with constitutional law.

Central forces arrive in Kerala as govt. braces for stir

siege of the secretariat from Monday
demanding resignation of Chief Minister
Oommen Chandy over the solar panel scam,
Central forces on Saturday arrived in
Kerala to assist the police.
Out of 20 companies of forces sought by the
state, the first batch of ITBP personnel
reached Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday
morning and one company of BSF in
politically volatile Kannur district as the
CPI(M) and its LDF allies started galvanising
about one lakh volunteers to be dispatched
for the protest.
According to official sources, more
contingents of central forces would reach
the state in the next two days to maintain
law and order during the siege, especially
since it has been planned during the run-up
to the Independence Day.
The Central Stadium adjacent to the
secretariat complex is the main venue of
Independence Day celebrations, to be
attended by Governor, Chief Minister and
other dignitaries.
Unfazed by the preparations to tackle the
protest sternly, the LDF has begun to
mobilise volunteers from across the state to
be sent to the state capital.
“Without fail, the volunteers will reach the
state capital at the right time as planned
whatever be the preparations made by the
government to deal with the protest,” the
CPI(M) Kannur district secretary P
Jayarajan told reporters.
Seeking to pre-empt the risk posed by such
a large gathering of protesters in the city,
police have instructed hoteliers and lodgers
here not to accommodate the volunteers
pouring in from all the 14 districts in the
state.
Educational institutions in the capital will
remain closed for two days from Monday in
view of traffic disruptions and other
inconvenience to be caused by the protest.
As the lead partner of the LDF, CPI(M)
alone would be mobilising about 75,000
volunteers through its nearly 25,000 branch
committees in the state and the CPI another
25,000 through its grass-root units.
National leaders of the Left and allied
parties, including former Prime Minister
and JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda, CPI(M)’s
Prakash Karat and CPI’s Sudhakar Reddy
would be addressing the protesters on the
initial day.
Solar scam, rocking the state for some two
months, has brought Mr. Chandy under a
cloud, especially after the arrest of a
Personal Assistant in his office for his
alleged links with the accused. Another
Personal Staff member and gunman have
been removed from the CMO after they
came under shadow of suspicion.
The scam pertains to financial cheating of
several people by the accused Biju
Radkahrishnan and Saritha Nair, both
under arrest, by offering clients solar
energy solutions.
The accused allegedly flaunted their clout
with the CM’s office for duping the
unsuspecting clients of huge sums.
Ever since it surfaced, LDF has been
pressing Mr. Chandy’s resignation and a
judicial probe into the scam, a demand
rejected by him.

US man kills wife

A 31-year-old US man allegedly
shot dead his wife and posted a confession and
gruesome photos of her body on Facebook
before turning himself in.
In a message on his Facebook account, Derek
Medina of Miami admitted to the murder of his
wife, 26-year old Jennifer Alfonso. He
uploaded a picture of his wife slumped on
their kitchen floor with blood on her arm and
face, alongside the caption "RIP Jennifer
Alfonso" on Thursday. "I'm going to prison or
death sentence for killing my wife love you
guys miss you guys take care Facebook people
you will see me in the news. my wife was
punching me and I am not going to stand
anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I
hope you understand me," his post read.
Medina then turned himself in. Officers went
to his South Miami home and found the
woman's body and a 10-year-old girl who was
not hurt. Acoording to Medina's father, the
girl is Alfonso's daughter from a previous
relationship. Medina senior also said that his
son had gone to him and admitted to killing
Alfonso because she had allegedly threatened
him with a knife. Medina was an actor and also
wrote guidance and self-help e-books.

Australia seize initiative in fourth Ashes test

Alastair Cook departed for a painstaking 51 as Australia seized the initiative in the fourth Ashes test Friday, reducing England to 155-4 by tea on the opening day.

Jonathan Trott (49) and Kevin Pietersen (26) were the other wickets to fall after lunch, both removed by offspinner Nathan Lyon after helping up the run-rate following a stodgy morning session.

Captain Cook was far more circumspect as he ground his way to a 32nd test half-century off 153 balls, before misjudging an inswinging delivery from Ashes debutant Jackson Bird and finding himself trapped lbw.

Australia, needing a victory to keep alive hopes of drawing the series, relied on the much-criticized Hot Spot to make the early breakthrough as Joe Root departed for 16 after edging behind.

Aussies rely on DRS for breakthrough in 4th test

Australia relied on the much-criticized Hot Spot technology to make an early breakthrough in the fourth Ashes test as England labored to 57-1 by lunch on the opening day.

Joe Root (16) was initially given not out by the on-field umpire when he edged Shane Watson behind to wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, but Australia asked for a review and Hot Spot showed the faintest of nicks.

Captain Alastair Cook was 21 not out and Jonathan Trott unbeaten on 13 as England made slow progress on Friday at the start of a match which it needed to draw or win to clinch a third straight Ashes series.

The English are 2-0 up in the five-match series and have already retained the Ashes.

The buildup to Chester-le-Street's first Ashes test had been dominated by the controversy surrounding the Decision Review System, with Australian broadcaster Channel Nine claiming this week that silicon tape might have been attached to the edges of bats to "fool" the technology in light of a string of contentious calls in the opening three matches.

Those claims were angrily denied by both teams, who went on to reiterate their support for DRS, but the flap meant excitement spread through the ground when Australia appealed the Root decision after England had crawled to 34 off 17.3 overs.

Third umpire Marais Erasmus wasted no time in overturning the call of on-field umpire Tony Hill when the smallest of white marks was shown on Root's bat on the replays. Snickometer confirmed the edge, too.

Root had been the busier of the two openers, with Cook very watchful as he saw off the new ball after winning the toss under brightening skies in the north-east. It made for a dull opening session as England struggled to get the accurate Watson (1-8 off seven overs) or debutant Jackson Bird (0-15 off eight overs) away.

When drinks were taken after the first hour, England was 31-0 after 14 overs.

Trott came in for Root and only got off the mark when he edged Peter Siddle through the slip cordon for four, one of only three boundaries before lunch.

England was unchanged from the drawn third test at Old Trafford while Australia dropped Mitchell Starc for Bird.
